DIY Wheel Lessons in Waite Park MN
Already know how to throw? You can rent some time on our wheel! Space is open and ready to use any time our studio is open. A reservation is suggested so you have the time you want.  We only have one wheel so we schedule based on availability.

Your time on the wheel is not supervised by a trained wheel instructor. You would be practicing/playing on your own.

$10 per day + $1/pound for clay. If you choose to keep your projects we wi charge $5-10 for bisque firing and $5-10 for glaze firing (depends on the size of the project you make. We also sell clay by the bag. One 25# bag is $20.
  • Use our tools or bring your own.
  • You must purchase clay in our studio for use on the wheel 
  • Wheel rental time is available for 1.5 hours per rental
  • Please note, If it's been more than 3 years since you have used a wheel we suggest taking a beginner/refresher lesson prior to renting the wheel for use.

  • Clay in Waite Park
  • 45 minutes of supervised wheel time
  • use of tools and firing of two finished items.
  • Learn the basics of centering the clay. All student beginners create a cylinder or bowl shape.
$20 per person (kids ages 7 and up, or adults) for lesson
  • Reservations for lessons are available during most open studio hours. Available dates and times will vary depending on instructor availability and other events in the studio.
  • Reservations are required 7 days in advance
  • Payment is required at the time of your reservation
  • You may re-schedule one time for a lesson
  • Each person will make 2 items (1st one is practice, 2nd is application of skills)
  • Students will be offered the option to take up to an additional hour of wheel time to practice. An additional fee will be charged for clay used. If you choose to keep your items your instructor will let you know the cost--roughly $10 an item.
  • We only have one studio wheel, so only one person at a time is given a lesson. 
  • Projects must be painted at a second visit (reservation not required) and then fired a second time in the kiln.
  • Thrown wheel projects will be held for 30 days after first firing for your return visit to paint.
